About Dr. Gregory Brightbill

Greg Brightbill

Dr. Gregory A. Brightbill (he/they) is a dedicated servant leader with deep expertise in higher education, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and nonprofit leadership. Grounded in the belief that advocacy, learning, and personal growth cannot happen in isolation, Dr. Brightbill champions allyship and social change through empathy, relationship-building, dedication, and action.

As the proud Queer owner of Bright Baltimore, LLC, Dr. Brightbill provides high-quality LGBTQ+ inclusive training and consulting, helping organizations foster more inclusive environments and improve customer service for LGBTQ+ communities. In addition to leading Bright Baltimore, he serves in student affairs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he supports the educational, professional, and identity-based needs of graduate and professional students in health and human services fields.

Dr. Brightbill holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Frostburg State University, a Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University, an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on higher education from Frostburg State University.

Beyond his professional work, Dr. Brightbill is a passionate thought leader in education and LGBTQ+ activism. He chairs the Board of Directors for GLSEN Maryland, advocating for the needs of K-12 Queer youth in Maryland schools. His advocacy extends to publishing op-eds in support of LGBTQ+ rights and serving as a recognized expert on legislation and policies impacting LGBTQ+ communities and higher education.
